How to make big text
- Enter your text. Type a word or a short line in the Your text box.
- Pick a style. The Big styles list shows your text in seven styles, from wide letters to block letters made of squares.
- Copy and paste. Press Copy next to the style you want, then paste it in your post, chat or bio.
What is big text?
Big text is text that takes more space or looks heavier than normal text, without changing the font size. It is made in two ways.
- Unicode letters that are wider or bolder than normal letters, such as wide letters and bold letters. Each letter is still one character.
- Block letters, where every letter is drawn over five lines with the block character █. This is a kind of text art.

Why the result may not look right
- Block letters look broken. They line up only in a fixed-width font, where every character has the same width. Most chat apps and social apps use other fonts, so the shapes get pushed out of place. They also break when a line is too long for the screen, so use short words.
- A letter is missing from the block letters. Characters outside A to Z, 0 to 9 and ! ? . - are left out.
- Black square letters look like emojis. Some phones draw a few of these letters, such as A, B, O and P, as coloured emoji.
- Empty boxes appear. The device or app that shows the text does not have that character. Wide and Bold have the widest support.
- The text stops growing. The box takes up to 200 characters.

Good to know before you use it
Screen readers often cannot read these characters as words, and search does not find text written with them. Use big text for decoration and keep important information in normal letters.
