What is cursive text?
Cursive is a style of handwriting where the letters are written with flowing, curved strokes. Cursive text from this tool looks like that style on a screen.
It is made with Unicode script letters, a set of characters created for mathematics. Each one is a separate character and not a font, so the text stays cursive when you paste it in another app. The letters are not joined to each other as they are in real handwriting.
Features
- Four styles: cursive, bold cursive, italic and bold italic.
- Capital and small letters from A to Z.
- One Copy button per style.
- Live preview that updates while you type.
The four styles
| Style | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Cursive | Thin script letters with loops | Names and short phrases |
| Bold cursive | The same script letters, heavier | Small sizes, where thin letters are hard to read |
| Italic | Slanted serif letters | A lighter, less decorated look |
| Bold italic | Slanted serif letters, heavier | Emphasis |
None of the four styles has its own digits, so numbers stay normal.
Why the result may not look right
- Some cursive letters look a little different from the others. In the thin Cursive style, eleven letters come from an older part of Unicode, so some fonts draw them in a slightly different shape. Bold cursive does not have this problem.
- Empty boxes or question marks. The device or app that shows the text does not have these characters.
- Letters with accents stay normal. The styles exist only for the English letters A to Z.
- The app refuses the text. Some apps and sites do not allow special characters in names or usernames.
- The text stops growing. The box takes up to 2,000 characters.

Three other tools on this site give other kinds of lettering. The fancy text generator shows 24 styles at once. The bold text generator makes bold letters. The text to handwriting tool draws your text as a handwritten page, which is an image and not text.
Good to know before you use it
Cursive characters are harder to read than normal letters, screen readers often cannot read them as words, and search does not find text written with them. Use cursive text for a name or a short line, not for long text.
The text is styled inside your browser. It is not sent to our server and is not saved by us.
