How to Send the Same Message Many Times
To send the same message many times, either build one long repeated message and send it once, or send the message again and again by hand. The first way is faster and sends only one message.
This guide covers WhatsApp, Telegram and Discord. Each app has its own message limit and its own rule against spam, so the right count is different in each app.
Two ways to send the same message many times
There are two ways, and they give different results in the chat.
| One long message | Many separate messages | |
|---|---|---|
| How it is made | The text is repeated first, then sent once | The same text is sent again and again |
| Messages sent | 1 | As many as the count |
| Limit that applies | Message length of the app | Speed rules and spam rules of the app |
| Work for you | One paste | One paste and one send for each copy |
For one long message, repeat text online, choose New line as the separator and paste the result in the chat. Each copy sits on its own line, so the chat looks full, but only one message is sent.
Many separate messages have to be sent by hand. A bot or a script that sends them for you is automation, and WhatsApp forbids it in its rules.
Sending the same message on WhatsApp
On WhatsApp, one long pasted message is the safe way. The steps are in the guide on how to repeat text on WhatsApp.
To send one message to many people, WhatsApp has broadcast lists. The WhatsApp Help Center states two things about them:
- Only saved contacts get it. A broadcast message reaches only the people who saved your number in their address book.
- Frequent use has a cost. People may report frequent broadcast messages, and accounts that are reported many times are banned.
The general rule on the same page is short: "Don't bulk message, auto-message, or auto-dial using WhatsApp."
Sending the same message on Discord
On Discord, two limits decide what you can send: the length of one message and the slowmode of the channel.
- Message length. Discord Support gives 2,000 characters for one message, and 4,000 characters with Nitro.
- Slowmode. A channel with slowmode limits how often each user can send a message. Discord Support gives intervals from 5 seconds to 6 hours.
So a repeated text of up to 2,000 characters fits in one message. "Happy Birthday" with a new line after each copy is 15 characters, which gives 133 copies in one message.
In a channel with slowmode, many separate messages take a long time, because you wait after each one. One long message avoids the wait.
Sending the same message on Telegram
On Telegram, the length of one message is the limit to watch. According to the community page Telegram Limits, one message holds 4,096 characters, and 8,192 characters with Telegram Premium.
These two numbers do not come from an official Telegram help page, so treat them as a guide. Check the size of your result before you paste it, and lower the count if the text does not go through as one message.
Message limits side by side
| App | Length of one message | Rule on speed or bulk | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Not published | No bulk or automated messages; broadcast reaches saved contacts only | WhatsApp Help Center | |
| Discord | 2,000 characters (4,000 with Nitro) | Slowmode per channel, 5 seconds to 6 hours | Discord Support |
| Telegram | 4,096 characters (8,192 with Premium) | Not checked for this guide | Telegram Limits (community page) |
| Our Text Repeater | Result of up to 2,000,000 characters | It does not send anything | The tool itself |
The tool builds far more text than any chat app takes in one message. The limit of the app is the one that counts, so set the repetition count for the app, not for the tool. The guide on platform character limits lists more apps.
When does a repeated message become spam?
A repeated message becomes spam when it is unwanted, automated or sent to strangers. The number of copies inside one message is not the problem.
- Unwanted. The person did not ask for it and does not know you. The WhatsApp Help Center advises messaging only people who contacted you first or asked you to contact them.
- Automated. A script, a bot or an auto-clicker sends the messages. This is what the rule on automated messages is about.
- Bulk. The same message goes to a long list of people at once.
On WhatsApp the result can be a restricted account. A restriction ends by itself after a set time. Until then the account still chats with existing contacts, but it cannot start chats with new contacts, create groups or use linked devices.
A simple test: one long message to a friend who will laugh is a joke. The same text to fifty people who did not ask for it is spam.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I send a message 100 times automatically?
- Not within the rules. Automatic sending needs a bot or a script, and WhatsApp forbids automated and bulk messages. Build one message with 100 copies and send it once instead.
- Is a repeated text one message or many?
- One. A text repeater returns a single block of text, and the chat app sends it as a single message.
- How many times can I repeat a text in one Discord message?
- As many copies as fit in 2,000 characters, or 4,000 with Nitro. Count the characters of one copy plus its separator and divide.
- What happens after a WhatsApp restriction?
- The restriction ends by itself after a set time. During it you keep your existing chats but cannot start new ones, create groups or use linked devices.
- Does the Text Repeater send messages for me?
- No. It only builds the text. You paste it in the app and send it yourself.
